Procedures:
Before starting my experiments, I built an electromagnet test platform that allows both voltage and current to be controlled. The platform includes battery connections that can receive either one 1.5 volt D cell battery or one 9 volt battery. There are also connections that can receive one 6 volt lantern battery. The platform includes a variable resister to control available current to the electromagnet coil.
